About the Job.
We are currently looking to recruit a manager for Lagoon’s Beauty Department. This role is a full-time, hands-on position and would involve managing the salon’s daily operations for waxing, skin care, eye treatments, massage, nails, and other relevant beauty treatments.
The ideal candidate would be trustworthy, reliable, and have a clear passion for the beauty industry. You would have proven experience in managing teams and delivering 5-star customer service to clients. The successful candidate will also be proficient in providing quality beauty treatments (notably skincare treatments, massage, and waxing).

The lagoon is a well-established, professional beauty salon situated in the busy center of Wimbledon, Southwest London. We are committed to providing high-quality treatments and delivering an exceptional client experience. Since opening in 2011, Lagoon has substantially increased our client base and developed a reputable brand in an affluent area of London. We are looking for a candidate to take up a key management position within the salon and to share our success with a manager we can invest in for the long term.
Key responsibilities;
- Managing day-to-day running of the Beauty Department within the salon. Leading a team of qualified beauticians to ensure the salon runs smoothly and meets our high standards for beauty treatments.
- The hands-on management role will involve providing quality waxing, skincare (facials), eye treatments, and massage services to clients.
- Completing regular stock takes, generating reports for upper management, and participating in team meetings.
- Delivering exceptional customer service through all types of communication (in-salon, via telephone, or email).
- Involvement in the recruitment and training of new therapists, plus ongoing performance management of existing therapists. Involvement in the recruitment and training of new therapists, plus ongoing performance monitoring of existing therapists to ensure excellent standards of treatments are delivered to clients.
- Using your in-depth beauty industry knowledge and experience to proactively help the salon develop and introduce new treatments and products to our beauty portfolio.
- Driving sales figures in the salon by promoting and selling our products, services and courses to hit sales targets.
- Ensuring the salon policies and procedures are always adhered to, including applying salon hygiene practices.
- Liaising with the salon reception to facilitate the efficient handling of client bookings, dealing with client inquiries, and ensuring smooth client check-ins and check-outs.
- Opening and closing the salon.
- Delivering exceptional customer service through all types of communication (in-salon, via telephone, or email).
- Maintain staff working schedule records for employees within their department.
- Liaising with the facilities manager to report maintenance issues with any salon equipment or fixtures.
- Provide timely and accurate information to our clients to minimize queries and complaints.
- Build rapport and confidence within our customer base and ensure the highest customer experience standards.
- Input into the design of salon promotions.
Requirements;
- Passionate about the beauty industry, with detailed knowledge of treatments and products.
- Be highly skilled in skincare treatments, waxing, massage, facials, nails, and other treatments within the company’s portfolio of services.
- Team-leading skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Be reliable, punctual, and able to work at weekends.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service, including handling client requests and complaints efficiently and effectively.
- Hold NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Beauty Therapy (or equivalent level qualifications if you have trained outside the UK).
- Experience working in salon environments delivering quality beauty treatments.
- Impeccable presentation with a high standard of personal grooming.
- Minimum of 2 years’ management experience.
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a premium beauty salon or beauty spa.
- Confident in selling treatments, courses, and products.
