Additional Schedule Details: Schedule includes varying hours and fluctuating shifts, including weekends, holidays and overtime. Due to the nature of emergency services, occasional unplanned overtime is required.

Job Summary/Basic Functions

The telecommunicator will serve as the focal position for all communications within the University’s Division of Pubic Safety using in depth knowledge of all university and division functions, operations and geography to assist in protecting the well being of all University facilities, faculty, staff, students and visitors.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High School/GED

Experience: 6 months experience in an office or customer service setting

Licensure & Certifications: DOCJT Telecommunications Academy certification or eligible for certification after 5 week residency academy.

Preferred Qualifications:

Must have Kentucky Telecommunications certification or be eligible for certification. Non-certified candidates must attend DOCJT 164 hour 4 week telecommunications academy and achieve certification requirements.
