We are recruiting to fill the position below;
Job Title: Business Development Manager (Logistics/Warehouse Solutions)
Location: Sydney or Melbourne
VISA sponsorship available.

  • Do you have a proven track record of successful business development or sales/solutions engineering in the warehouse automation sector and the strategic aptitude and business acumen to identify commercially attractive opportunities and build market share?
  • Are you open to a new opportunity with one of the most respected and best-lead major-scale solutions-providers in the Australian market also a global “top 10” player in intralogistics systems?

With a strong pipeline of work in place, inbound sales enquiries already running ahead of capacity and the strategic appetite to further grow market share, an opportunity for a new Business Development Manager (Logistics/Warehouse Solutions) has now been created by our retained client.
Based in either Sydney or Melbourne and reporting directly to the National Sales Manager, the new appointee for this key, mid-or-senior level role will take responsibility for identifying and capitalising on relevant inbound business enquiries that align with company capabilities, solutions and objectives as well as developing and actioning proactive business development activities to identify new opportunity. In both cases, you will be intimately involved in the full sales cycle from understanding a target customer’s requirements, through to developing a suitable concept, actively selling the benefits of the solution and successfully obtaining a viable contract for the project with other team members. Specifically:

Customer Strategy

  • Follow up on inbound business leads and build strong relationships with prospects.
  • Conduct analysis and propose strategy thorough market research to identify potential business opportunities and industry trends.
  • Develop and implement targeted business development strategies.
  • Identify and engage prospective clients, establishing and nurturing relationships with key

decision-makers.

  • Ensure that solutions developed exceed client expectations and contribute to overall customer

satisfaction.

  • Collaborate with the sales team to understand client needs and tailor proposals that showcase

the value of company warehouse automation solutions.

  • Work closely with marketing to target customers and manage leads etc
  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance the company’s market positioning and brand

awareness.

  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.

Solution and Bid Strategy

  • Ensure proposals are tailored to address the specific needs and challenges of potential clients.
  • Oversee the design and that technical solutions meet client needs and business objectives.
  • Develop cost-effective and attractive concepts in collaboration with internal departments.
  • Contribute to automation projects by participating in design and proposal reviews.
  • Provide design and engineering support when required.
  • Collaborate with internal and regional teams, including Application Engineering, Storage

Engineering, Software, and Customer Service.

  • Lead contract negotiations, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements that align with company

goals and compliance.

  • Collaborate with legal and finance teams to finalise contracts and agreements.
  • Monitor and assist to maintain customer satisfaction throughout project delivery.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure you remain at the forefront

of innovation.

About you:
A strategic thinker with a strong business acumen and a proven track record of successful business development or sales/solutions engineering in the warehouse automation sector, you see yourself as a positive, motivated and driven individual. You may be Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics (or similar) or qualifies by experience and you have excellent customer relationship skills for both internal and external customers. In addition, you have/are:

  • Proven experience in leading and managing technical sales opportunities
  • Prior experience in a solutions engineering or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of solution architecture, technical consulting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex

technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments.
  • A passion for staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and capitalise on market trends and opportunities.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Problem solver with high attention to detail
  • Good listener with strong communication skills
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings
  • Negotiation skills and sound commercial acumen
  • Prioritisation skills and assertiveness
