About the Job.
Rugby and Rugby Central Vets for Pets is looking for a new or recently graduated vet to join their team and our award-winning graduate scheme.
Our team’s vision is to be every pet owner’s first choice for veterinary care in Rugby, aiming to have an affordable treatment option for every patient who walks through the door. We have a strong ethos for being at the very heart of our community and we need great people to join our team to help us realise this vision.
Jenny (RVN) and Sarah (MRCVS) are the partners behind our two practices which are now 11 and 8 years old. Very much hands-on they lead a team of 7 Veterinary Surgeons, 8 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 5 Student Veterinary Nurses, 3 Veterinary Care Assistants, 7 Client Care Advisors, 1 Financial Administrator, and our Practice Manager Lucy.
We try to keep our colleagues in one location enabling a good team bond and the opportunity to build a rapport with clients. Jenny, Sarah, and Lucy split their time equally between the two locations with team leaders coming into place as the teams have grown over the years – you’ll always have someone to turn to should you need it.
With genuine support and emphasis on your well-being, you can realize and maintain your full potential in an environment that encourages a healthy work/life balance too. You’ll be supported from day one by a dedicated mentor/Vet GDP Advisor, you’ll also be able to take paid leave to attend the varied CPD program designed by vets specifically for new graduates. As you build your confidence in caring for pets and their owners, you’ll grow your client base and see the continuity of cases with the support of your wider team. You won’t be in sole charge of cases until you’re ready.
As a standard of the Graduate Development Programme, we offer a 2-year program with no financial tie-ins, a guaranteed starting salary of at least £34,000 per annum with reviews each year on the programme, 10-12 clinical/non-clinical structure CPD days a year with covered travel costs, access to wellbeing support and free membership of wellbeing app and support with practice transfer should the need to arise.
Pets just see people. And just like pets, we embrace everyone’s differences. We work to break down barriers, attract and develop diverse talent, and create a culture that allows everyone to be the best they can be. Our diversity and inclusion vision is that everyone is welcome and feels part of our business. So, if you think you’re a good match for what we are looking for, and you share our belief that together ‘we’re better with pets’, we’re waiting to hear from you, whatever your background or circumstances.
