About the Job.
At Arriva, our Bus Drivers are at the heart of the communities that we serve. Whether it’s getting children to school, commuters to work, or the public to events or shopping – we connect our customers to the people and places that matter to them.
We are one team with a shared passion for providing excellent customer service and playing a vital part in our local communities. Working as a Bus Driver, you will be part of one big team. We pride ourselves on our teamwork and supporting each other as well as our customers.
We are currently recruiting for both Trainee and Experienced Bus Drivers for our Birkenhead depot.
Don’t worry if you’ve never driven a bus before – we will provide you with all the training you need, and you’ll earn as you learn! The hourly rate whilst in training will be £12.75 which increases to £15.00 after 12 months.
For experienced Bus or PCV Drivers, we offer a starting hourly rate of £12.75 increasing to £15.00 after 6 months.
We’re offering full-time opportunities with the potential of taking on overtime if you wish to take an additional hour. You will also be supplied with a uniform, training, and development – we have opportunities to develop your experience and your career across the business.
All successful candidates will attend an induction at a local depot which will give you all the training you need including vehicle familiarisation, route learning, ticket machines, customer care, policies, and procedures. If you don’t already hold your PCV license, you will attend our Arriva Training School for full CPC training to get you ready to start in your new role as an Arriva Bus Driver.
You’ll need to be over 18 with at least 6 months of driving experience and no more than 6 points on your license. The role will be shift-based which will include evenings and weekends. So, if you’re passionate about giving good customer service, enjoy dealing with the public, and want to be part of supporting your local communities then submit your application now and one of our dedicated Recruitment Team will be in touch to discuss your application.
