Job Title: Cash Application Representative
Location: Skokie, IL, USA
Full Time/Part Time: Full-time
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
What you will do:
- Process daily electronic payment files
- Process daily balancing of electronic remittance advice
- Review Batch from OnBase
- Process Online Insurance Lockbox
- Process Lockbox Deposits
- Balance Daily Cash
- Resolves accounts that require additional investigation
- Review and resolve requests in system on a daily basis
- Processes Credit Card Payments, Non-sufficient Funds
- Posting and resolving Unidentified or Misdirected Cash
- Communicate with payee to request required information
- Resolving Unposted Cash Errors
- Process Returned Checks (other than NSF)
- Update Insurance from EOB
- Performs Cashier functions
- Processes Expenditure Requisition
- Reconciling Bank Errors
What you will need:
- Education: High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience required. College degree preferred
- Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer keyboarding 10-key and mouse proficiency.
- PC applications in a Windows environment, minimum, with MS Word and Excel, preferred.
- Ability to build positive working relationships within the immediate work group.
- Ability to constantly evaluate and prioritize workload.
- Ability to quickly problem solve and identify appropriate issues for escalation to management.
- Ability to retain composure in a stressful environment.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles. Strong math skills.
- Understanding of payer structures and coordination of benefits between payers.
- Ability to make appropriate and autonomous judgements and decisions on a variety of problems which require research, analysis and communication.
- Experience:
- 1 year of general office experience required.
- 1 year of satisfactory performance as a biller or follow-up representatives in a healthcare accounts receivable environment preferred.
- 3 years of related clerical experience (hospital insurance or physician office), strongly preferred.
