Under both direct and indirect supervision of a licensed respiratory therapist, the Hospital Assistant 3 (HA3) position is to coordinate, maintain, evaluate, research and correct any issues that pertain to Respiratory Care Department equipment, supplies and environment. The HA3 is responsible for inventory supply management and quality control testing for respiratory care equipment. This position is responsible for receiving shipped goods, managing and organizing the Respiratory Care Department central storage area, and reporting equipment malfunctions to Clinical Engineering for repair/replacement. The HA3 supports patient care by keeping record of respiratory care equipment location and condition and is responsible for keeping equipment operational and functional. The HA3 will efficiently and expeditiously facilitate equipment and supply delivery throughout the many patient care areas within the medical center. The HA3 is responsible for the onboarding and orientation of newly hired Respiratory Technicians.

Minimum Qualifications
- Experience with cost effective material management practices relative to product storage, distribution methods, product security, receiving goods, crediting returns, product integrity for patient use and product substitutions.
- Experience with and use of basic mathematical calculations; addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Experience in maintaining multiple filing systems, records, and logistical information is required in this position.
- Experience with computerized and hard-copy information systems.
- Experience, general understanding and recognition of medical equipment hospital/clinical setting are required.
- Skills for accurate calculations of inventory replenishment, weight, units of measure, and package counts are essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills to relay instructions and ideas to a diverse audience.
- Interpersonal skills to interact with a broad spectrum of staff.
- Basic computer skills.
- Analytical skills to effectively troubleshoot equipment.
- Ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
