Job Title: Logistical Support Representative II
Location: Elmhurst Hospital, Illinois

Hours: 7am-3:30pm
Travel: as needed

What you will do:
  • Retrieves all inbound mail from USPS.
  • Receives, sorts, and delivers all interdepartmental and U.S. mail in a timely and effective manner based on established routes.
  • Prepares quality sort of mail at time of delivery to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepares proper forms for certified and express mail, as well as maintains accurate records.
  • Applies proper postage to all outbound mail.
  • Forwards all undeliverable mail, including mail for discharged patients and former employees.
  • Maintains Mail Center equipment and assures that postage meter has adequate postage.
  • Distributes facsimile transmissions and mail and picks up all mail within the hospital.
  • Completes all copy requests (copy, laminating, binding) in a timely fashion, adhering to the requests of the customer.
  • Ensures that all quality standards are met through regular audits of printed materials.
  • Reviews client requests to determine whether they can be fulfilled using existing technology or processes.
  • Maintains a clean, organized and secure depot center for Logistical Support Services to ensure that it operates efficiently and effectively.
  • Maintains confidentiality and a high level of integrity; does not open, read or tamper with mail.
  • Acts as the primary on-site liaison between customers, departments, vendors, and Supply Chain leadership in relation to all services provided by the Mail & Print Center.
  • Represents NorthShore and department and provides routine explanation of services to users.
  • Follows NorthShore Service Values including demonstrating friendly and courteous behavior at all times to rider(s), refrains from any activities that may cause discomfort to passengers (i.e. smoking, loud music, etc.) and assists riders with boarding.
  • Must have ability to deal effectively with the demands of departmental relationships with hospital, clinics and departmental personnel.

  • Maintains a service oriented relationship with customers.
  • Respects and maintains confidentially of information relative to customers, visitors, and co-workers.

What you will need:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Skills: Good communication and interpersonal skills, ability to read, write, and speak pleasantly and effectively. Possess honesty, integrity, and trustworthy qualities. Maintains a service attitude. Ability to sort mail, organize and maintain records, work independently, and adjust to changes. Numerical ability. Able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
  • Experience: Nine (9) months experience as a LSS Rep I or similar previous work experience
  • Certification: Must possess a valid Illinois class “D” driver’s license. Must have held a valid driver’s license for three (3) years prior to the date of application. Must have a good driving record subject to State driver motor vehicle verification to comply with NorthShore insurance requirements. Within three (3) years of date of application or promotion, must not have been convicted of: a) driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, b) reckless driving, c) leaving the scene of an accident involving death or personal injury, d) drag racing, e) manslaughter, f) reckless homicide, g) reckless conduct from the use of a motor vehicle. Must also be licensed to operate forklifts and/or additional powered warehouse equipment as applicable.
