Our company is looking for a highly motivated and experienced line cook to join our team. As a Line cook, you would be responsible to prepare and deliver to Dinner service, providing a high standard of fresh food in a busy hotel restaurant.
Job Title: Kitchen Line Cook
Location: 24 Aero Cres NE, Calgary, AB
Pay: $16.50–$18.00 an hour
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Can help with LMIA, MUST be in Canada currently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take control of the dinner service and ensure guests receive a truly delicious and memorable dinner.
- Cooking and managing dinner service and assisting with closing duties.
- Setting up and cleaning down the kitchen after the dinner rush.
- Ensure the kitchen is kept clean and hygienic at all times.
- Ensure all stocks are kept under optimum conditions.
- Ensure all dishes are being prepared to the correct recipe and to the correct quantity.
- Ensure the department is operated within the appropriate legislation and the appropriate records are maintained up-to-date.
- Ensure any anticipated issues are communicated promptly to the Head Chef/kitchen supervisor.
- Collect feedback from the guest during the service session and report to Executive chef on any complaints or issues.
- Personal grooming and appearance standards are met regarding cleanliness, sanitation and hygiene.
- Adhere to recipes and specifications to maintain consistency and ensure all standards are met
- Keeps overproduction and food waste to a minimum, ensures proper rotation, labeling, and storing of food
- Maintain respectful work environment demonstrating integrity and teamwork
- Keeps workstation clean and organized including fridge’s/freezers, countertops, and stove tops
- Assist with producing menus and new dishes.
- Adhere to Health & Safety policies and regulations.
- Able to handle pressure calmly and professionally.
- Attend training courses as and when required.
- Carry out any other duties as required by management.
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
Must be:
- Red Seal (Preferred)
- Passionate about producing high quality food.
- Minimum 2-3 years experience
- Food Safe, Safe Check, Food Handler or equivalent certificate (preferred)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to stand, push, pull, and kneel with ease
- Must be available to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
- Passionate about producing high quality food
- Able to tackle every task given to you with the highest levels of enthusiasm
