Job Title: Canadian Immigration File Manager Assistant
Location: 7811 Steveston Highway, Richmond, BC
Pay: $19.00–$22.50 an hour
Job Type: Permanent, Part-time, Full-time
Work Modality: IN OFFICE – NON REMOTE – 7811 Steveston HWY, Richmond, BC
Remuneration: CAD19.00 – CAD 22.50 depending on experience
Schedule: Tuesday – Friday
(25-35 hours per week)
Permanent Part Time
Preferences: A person living in Richmond, BC. with a second language such as Japanese , French, Italian or Spanish
Immigration
– Preparing, indexing and filing documents for disclosure in accordance with all divisions of the Immigration and Refugee Board.
– Drafting correspondences including faxes, emails, and letters to various government agencies;
– Completing immigration forms, cross-referencing for accuracy;
-Performing cursory country conditions research and compiling country conditions documents;
– Preparing and monitoring access to information requests to various government agencies
– Preparing and follow up on temporary resident visas, LMIA’s, Express Entry and PNP’s application.
Office Admin
-Maintaining a bring-forward system to ensure all deadlines are met;
– Taking messages and logging correspondences between relevant agencies and the office;
– Organizing clients’ electronic files, including adding incoming emails and correspondence;
– Updating clients’ files on in-house software program
– Communicating with clients by email, phone and in person;
– Arranging interpreters for client meetings and translators for documents;
– Arranging couriers to deliver documents for filing on time; .
– Arrange meetings in person and virtual;
– Backup receptionist is an asset
Job requirements
– Bachelors degree;
– Attention to detail;

– Excellent organizational skills;
– Excellent English skills, oral and written;
– Fluency in a second language, an asset such as Spanish or French
– Completion of an immigration program is an asset;
– A demonstrated interest in social justice in as asset;
– Graduate from a legal assistant program or equivalent experience;
– Demonstrated interest in working with various cultures and marginalized communities is an asset;
– Ability to manage time and several activities during the week with ability to prioritize under pressure;
– Being able/willing to commute to our office located in Richmond, BC.
